The Entrepreneur Mindset – Results Driven Logic

Being an entrepreneur is hard work. It takes more guts and determination than several other noble and worthy pursuits. Your mindset will pave the way forward. Now is the time to start working on your business rather than in it. 

The entrepreneur mindset requires one thing and that is to change your thinking in order to change your results. Everything that we have, are or have created is a result of how we think. If you want to get different results you need to change how you think. Afterall, it’s no secret that real change starts from within.

Desire, Capacity and Competence

Every person has a capacity level. That means that you are a container that can only be filled so much. Most people who attend any kind of training come to the training already close to full. Anything you learn from that moment forward will simply overflow. The load you are able to manage is only as good as your capacity to hold it and your capacity to accept new information. You need to remember that the larger your business becomes, the more employees you have, the more your load grows. Who you are from birth is not who you are forever. If you can’t adjust, adapt, and extend your capacity you will never flourish. Desire is not enough. It can’t do anything on its own, it is merely motivation. It has to be coupled with competence, the ability to know how to get it done and capacity which is the stamina to get to the finish line. Without these three things in alignment you won’t succeed. 

Beliefs

Everyone has beliefs. This is how you see the world. A belief is an acceptance that something is true and exists. These are principles that are programmed into you from birth. These come from your parents, teachers, schools, staff and even your church. Not all these beliefs are accurate. Truth is nothing more than a weighted average of certain perspectives, and it allows you to see the world as it really is rather than your interpretation of the world. Beliefs cause you to walk around with blinders on, not thinking about the why behind what you believe. You need to learn how to think rather than be programmed what to think. In many instances you have to unlearn what you have been taught, your beliefs, in order to make room for new thinking. What you feed your mind you will reap, it’s that simple. 

Mentors

Choose your mentors wisely. Ask the correct questions. Don’t allow envy, exhaustion and jealousy take over. Delve into how your mentors got to where they are and use that information to reach your own goals. Ask the right people for advice. Ensure that your chosen mentors have been in your current position at some stage. Choose mentors that will help you grow. Don’t ask the wrong people the right questions because you will get the wrong answer. Someone can’t do more for you than what they have done for themselves. If you look at a boat anchored in deep water, the longer the anchor the more sway your boat has. Yes, the boat moves in circles but that isn’t what change is. Change is diving down to the bottom and finding out where the anchor is locked, removing it and finding a steadier rock. You have to have an intentional goal to become consciously aware. You need to realize that there are things that you don’t know and you need to make an intentional decision to uncover what you don’t know. You need to reach a point where you are consciously unaware in order to graduate to a state of being consciously aware. 

What Happens Rests On You

Truth, time, choice and change are four constants in life. Truth is that which is true in reality. Time, we are all on different schedules and what you decide will lean so much on where you are in life or your career. Make choices that will allow you to grow towards your goals. For instance rather than choosing to feel stressed, rather choose to deal with it. Change is inevitable, it will happen. The only difference is what change will happen. This is reliant on your choices, the ones you make on a daily basis. Choose to focus on solutions, choose to focus on the positive and choose to be happy. Extraordinary results come from extraordinary coaches, mentors, staff and an extraordinary YOU. 

Goals

What is your goal for your business? Is your business running in a way that will help you reach your goals in your life? You need to have clarity on where you are right now and where you want to go. Know where you are right now, where you want to go and from there you can select the right route for you. If you don’t have something to focus on it is extremely difficult to be disciplined in order to execute your strategies. In order to achieve results you need to have complete clarity. Know where you are, where you want to be and what you are prepared to commit to in order to get there. Be accountable for your own decisions whether good or bad. Identify what you need to change in yourself in order to attract the same towards you. You attract what you are. People with attitudes attract others with attitudes, lazy people attract lazy people, positive people attract positive people, that is a fact. 

Personality Traits

There are those business owners who make claims and then there are those entrepreneurs who ask questions. Those who make claims are the ones who think they know it all and are less likely to have the capacity for new information and change. Those who ask the questions are more open to change and growth. 

M O L O

If you want to experience the growth you so long for, you need to identify what you are doing that isn’t working and do less of that and also what is working so that you can do more of that. You also need to realize what you aren’t doing that you should be doing. This is an exercise that needs to be done regularly. Your list will evolve as your business reaches different levels of growth. It is time to remove the blinders. The world is not static, it is ever-changing and so should your business.

Get your process smoothed out. Living in a state of overwhelm is not going to get you where you want to be. Identify the speed bumps and tackle them head on before they put you in a state of disarray. Use your team and resources effectively towards a state of efficiency. Things that are not urgent or important must be discarded immediately. If it isn’t helping you in any way then it isn’t worth the time you are putting into it. It has no value to you. Find something to put that effort into what will actually help you on your path to growth. Change your mindset, focus on solutions, open your mind to new information and evaluate continuously. Trust the process and you will get you to where you want to be.
